About the coffee:
This Gori Gesha was produced by Gesha Village in the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia.
This lot comes from the Shewa-Jibabu block. This lot was fermented for 80 hours, whole cherry in a sealed plastic tank with the addition of mossto. This coffee was then dried for 28 days in raised beds under the sun.
About the farmer:
Gesha Village is one of the most cherished coffee producers on the planet with 471-hectares in the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia, nearby the town of Gesha and the Gori Gesha forest, the birthplace of the Gesha variety.
Owned and operated by Adam Overton, Rachel Samuel and Willem Boot, this project was started in 2007 and has quickly developed to be an idolized producer in the specialty coffee world.
Roaster's notes:
What got me to buy this bean was its fruit-like blueberry notes. The aroma of this coffee didn't appeal to me as much as the Lychee, but I'd still give the brew bed a whiff.
When drinking, let the brew cool a bit. I found the blueberry/fruit notes really started to get expressed once it cooled to warm-to-room temperature.
Check out the Gori Gesha Brew Guide section for tips on how to brew.
